Devlog #5 Progress update: November 2022

Happy November!

I missed a post last month but here’s a handful of updates:

  • I’ve recently hit the 140k milestone in the script. (yay…)(How long will the final script be? Who knows. I originally planned for Quaint to be about 80k words long but now we’re here. I don’t think there’s a point in estimating anymore.)
  • The endgame is starting to take definite shape. I’ve got 5 main endings outlined, the scenes leading to the confrontation are mostly written, and I’ve got a pretty good idea of how it’s all going to play out. So I’m feeling good about it. There’s still a lot to be done but the end is in sight! (even though that‘s only true for the main storyline…)
  • I went through the first round of edits before Part One’s launch and it’s looking good so far! I’m still worried about the dialogue sounding kind of stiff at times (I tend to gravitate towards formal phrases and long sentences; it’s a leftover habit from when I was writing my MA thesis), but I’m doing what I can to make it sound more like a conversation and less like a dissertation lol.

But all in all, I’m super excited about Part One’s release! This is the biggest thing I've ever made and the most heart I've ever put into anything and I really just want to yell about it share it. (But also, big thank you if you gave the demo a try! I can only say that things get better from there. 🤭)

As usual, visit my Twitter for more art, and feel free to share your thoughts. Bye!
