This made me think. I don't like to think. But this game was really real. For real.
i did ending A and B and cried. it's so cute but ending B is also so sad ๐ญ
Thank you! I'm happy the story resonated with you ๐ฅบ๐
This was so well done !!
I played both Ending A and B, the story can so bittersweet and/or tragic depending on the choices that you make. The GUI and artstyle are lovely as well :OOO I think it rlly added to the soft, warm nature of Tei and Kyu's relationship.
Aww, this makes me very happy! Thank you for playing! ๐ฅบ๐
Ending A ๐ฅฐ๐ Just beautiful, I love them.
Aww, I'm glad you liked it! Thank you for playing! ๐ฅฐ
An absolutely beautiful game! (Though all Hiro's games are --- HAVE YOU PLAYED THEM YET? GO PLAY THEM). Gorgeous artwork! Breathtaking music! Polished and refined GUI that ties everything together for a fabulous presentation. And let's not forget the story and characters, which are truly where the heart of this game (and Quaint) shines. Despite being a relatively short game, the endearing and sweet Kyuu will pull you right in and make you want to cradle and hold and protect him forever and ever! ๐ญ (And Tei is there, too, I guess... LOLOL I KID I KID. Kyuu just really stole the show in this one hahaha ๐คฃ)
Don't wanna spoil too much about the possible directions of the story, but let's just say at some points you'll be crying and at some points you'll feel the biggest dumb warmth in your whole heart because of how sweet it is (and then in the next you'll be blushing like crazy djdjdj). The whole gamut! I also really enjoyed the use of (albeit horrifying) point and click effects to make an already guttural scene all the more difficult and heartbreaking.
Just overall a fantastic game. A wonderful bittersweet journey that's beautifully done.
(fskdskdf the subtle jab at Tei ๐)
hhhhhhhhhh what a sweet and lovely comment, you even went as far as promoting the other games, my heart ๐ญ๐ kdlsf;sdlkfs;ksd thank you so much! for the wonderful review and for the help with the beta, the game is much better thanks to you! ๐ฅบ๐
I had the honour of beta-testing Weeping Cherries and it was a very great game! And don't be fooled by the length, it is an emotional punch!
First of all, the game is very polished: the GUI is charming, the art is very well-made. The CGs are particularly good, and the sprites' expressions are also very well-made. The animations spread throughout the game also adds to the experience! The music too was absolutely gorgeous and supported the mood of the story very well!
Let's talk about the story! It is a very emotional one. Not only does the game manage to set its world and its conflicts, it also paints with remarkable precision the relationship of Kyu and Tei, and, of course, how dependent it is on the "promise" mentioned in the summary of the game.
I won't spoil it here, but the game handles a rather dark theme, but handles it amazingly: it manages, in all its variations, to keep its tone and send healthy messages, and it won't blame the players for picking options offered by the game in the first place. And yet, never does the game celebrate unhealthy patterns. A tour de force, really!
To conclude, I cannot recommend this game enough! It is well-written, sensitive, emotional, the characters are great, and it is very polished and amazing-looking! Congrats Hiro!!
Awww, Chim, that's so sweet of you ๐ฅบ๐
I was a bit worried if I could handle the themes in a balanced and respectable way but your feedback helps put my mind at ease. At least for the most part, haha. ๐ The game pushes the limits of what I'm willing to put out there, I guess. ^^
Thank you for the lovely comment and the help with the beta! ๐ฅฐ
